In the 2017–18 fishing year,


    
        there were
        202
        observed  captures of all albatrosses
    
    
    in trawl fisheries.
  
    Observed captures were of 
    New Zealand white-capped albatross (108), southern Buller's albatross (46), Salvin's albatross (35), albatrosses (3), Campbell black-browed albatross (3), smaller albatrosses (2), Chatham Island albatross (2), wandering albatrosses (1), southern royal albatross (1), and black-browed albatross (1).
  


  
    It was estimated by a statistical model that there were a total of 
    758 (95% c.i.: 643&ndash;<wbr>899) captures
    
    in trawl fisheries.
